Process

How a Glare project actually runs.

No black boxes. Here's exactly what happens between your first call and your final files — and how long each step usually takes.

Step by step

  1. Discover

A 20-minute call about your goal, audience, timeline and budget. You get honest advice even if we're not the right fit.

    Day 1

A 20-minute call. We ask about the goal, the audience, where it will live, the deadline and the budget range. You leave with honest advice either way.

  2. Develop

We write the treatment or script, build references and send a fixed-bid budget you can approve line by line.

    Days 2–5

We send a treatment or creative approach and a fixed-bid budget broken down line by line. Approve it, adjust it, or walk away — no cost.

  3. Prepare

Casting, locations, permits, crew and a production book with every detail of the shoot day.

    Weeks 1–3

Casting, locations, permits, insurance, crew and equipment. You get a production book and call sheet so nothing on the day is a surprise.

  4. Shoot

A calm, efficient set run by people who respect your time — with live monitoring for you on set or remotely.

    Shoot days

A calm, efficient set. You can watch on a monitor beside the director or remotely through a private live feed.

  5. Finish

Editing, color grading, sound design and graphics, with two clear review rounds.

    Weeks 2–4 after

Assembly, rough cut and fine cut with time-coded review links. Two revision rounds are included, then color, sound and graphics.

  6. Deliver

Masters, cutdowns, captions and formats for every platform, plus an archive of your footage.

    Delivery

Final masters, cutdowns, vertical versions, captions and an archive of your footage — named and organized so your team can find everything.

What you'll need

Less than you think.

  • A goal: what should people feel, know or do after watching?
  • Where the film will live: TV, YouTube, social, a launch event, a pitch.
  • A deadline and a budget range — even a rough one helps us plan honestly.
  • Your brand assets, any references you love, and the people who approve.

That's it. We handle the scripts, crews, permits, insurance and everything else.

Process FAQ

Timelines & budgets.

How much does a video production cost?

It depends on crew, cast, locations and shoot days. Social content days start around $2,500, music videos around $3,500 and commercials around $8,000. After a 20-minute call we send a fixed-bid budget you can approve line by line.

Where do you shoot?

We're based in Burbank and shoot across Los Angeles and Southern California every week — Glendale, Pasadena, Hollywood, the Valley and beyond. We travel anywhere for the right project.

Do you provide the crew and equipment?

Yes. We bring the full crew and the cinema camera, lighting, grip and sound package each project needs, and scale it up or down to fit the budget.

Can you handle permits and insurance?

Yes. We handle FilmLA permits, location agreements, certificates of insurance and drone authorizations.

How quickly can you turn a project around?

Most projects go from first call to delivery in three to six weeks. Rush schedules are possible when we plan them together.
